Like many “dark” women, Demeter’s body is adorned with symbolic accoutrement. The key around her know, the Elfin tattoo on her abdomen, the beads around her neck….. We were working in a cemetery in Greensboro and Demeter was clearly nervous. Her sister reassured her repeatedly as the shoot progressed.
It wasn’t long before we had to leave the cemetery for the streets where we would work another several hours.
These photos are rendered intentionally in a sepia finish. It isn’t that the color were not adequate. In fact they were. This sepia finish touches the experience of that day most profoundly and they have been critically acclaimed. We would work with Demeter once more by herself. Falcon worked with Demeter and isis twice – the first of those two sessions has won more recognition than any other dual-model session.
